Give An X
My Life My Say is encouraging those who have registered to go out and make their voices heard, so they can have a say on the issues that matter to them – like the cost of living, the NHS and housing.
In the build-up to National Voter Registration Day in April, we supported My Life My Say – a non-partisan youth-led movement aiming to get every young person voting – on the launch of their ‘Give an X’ campaign, to inspire the ‘silent voices’ of the 4.3 million young people not registered to vote, to make themselves heard.
This is also the first election where voters will need to show photographic ID at polling stations – which for young people means a passport, driving license or a Voter Authority Certificate.
With our support, more than 113,000 young people registered on National Voter Registration Day, the deadline for this year’s local and mayoral elections – a 350% surge on the day before, with the total almost double from the last equivalent local elections in 2021 – showcasing the power of effective behaviour change campaigns.
