The Government of Ukraine launched a pop-up event at a local Kenyan bakery.
Together We Rise showcases the vital contribution of Grain from Ukraine, its humanitarian programme, on people in Kenya and recipient countries in combatting food insecurity and ensuring people can continue to make the food they love, despite the ongoing conflict.
The initiative, created in November 2022, works in partnership with the World Food Programme, delivering grain to countries with the most complicated food situations. So far, the Grain from Ukraine programme has delivered 202,600 tonnes of grain and flour to countries across Africa and Asia, with 25,000 tonnes being delivered to Kenya specifically.
Freuds supported the Ukrainian Embassy of Kenya to engage two local charities, Turning Point Trust and Kings and Queens of Kibera, who both work tirelessly to provide food and education to children most in need in Nairobi. They received a donation of Ukrainian flour to help them continue to support their local communities to thrive.
