The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals

On Monday 27th February, Jason Manford hosted The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals at Manchester’s AO Arena.

Guests including Alexandra Burke, Jodie Prenger, Joe McElderry, Suzanne Shaw, Ranj Singh and Ore Oduba attended the special evening which shone a light on the magic of musical theatre and the difference it makes to communities.

The evening saw show-stopping performances from 13 incredible West End and touring musicals, including a heart-warming rendition of ‘Shall We Dance’ by Helen George from Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King and I, a spellbinding medley of songs by the cast of Hamilton and a mesmerising performance of ‘I Will Always Love You’ by Melody Thornton from smash-hit musical, ‘The Bodyguard The Musical’. The evening was a true extravaganza, bringing together the very best of musical theatre all under one roof.

The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals, served as a massive thank you to National Lottery players who have helped tens of thousands of arts projects across the UK and supported over 2,000 theatres through the Covid crisis.
